Here Are The Ways To Pass The Time During A Layover At Detroit Airport Lounges
You may wonder what to do during your layover at Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport (other than sleep). There may be less to do than you’d want, but for a short trip, you should be okay.
1. Get Some Food
There are a fair number of restaurants where you may take your time if you’re not in a hurry at Detroit Airport Lounges. Casual dining establishments like bars, vineyards, cafes, and to-go restaurants are also available. The best restaurants in McNamara Terminal include Bigalora Cucina, Andiamo (a local business), Cat Cora’s Taproom, and Harvest & Grounds.
There are fewer dining options in the North Terminal, but you can taste the local style with a hot dog from National Coney Island. All the restaurants close at 11 o’clock, so if you’re going to be here overnight, you’d better have some snacks with you since the only thing you can do if you wake up in the wee hours is to use a vending machine.
2. Visit A Lounge
It’s a common misconception that only First-Class passengers are allowed in the lounges. If you’re flying with Delta or one of their partner airlines, you can skip the check-in and checkout lines altogether. If your flight departs from North Terminal, regardless of your airline or service class, you can buy a pass to use the Lufthansa lounge.

3. Visit The Light Tunnel

4. Shop
Possess a fantastic time window shopping. McNamara has several standard airport stores, some unique boutiques, and international clothing lines. Michigan Sports, the PGA Tour Shop, and EA Sports are the area’s most distinctive establishments that attest to the region’s love of sports. There is only the Duty-Free and a few newsstands and convenience stores in the North Terminal, so plan accordingly.
5. Go To A Health Club Or SPA
If you need some TLC between flights, head to the Be Relax Spa on Concourse A. The spa offers oxygen and aromatherapy treatments, chair and table massages, mani/pedis, waving, and hair styling.
6. Sightsee
If the weather is nice, leave the airport and check out what the city of Detroit Airport Lounges offers instead. Get away from the airport at least six hours before your flight. There are a few routes one can take to reach the city center: During the week rush hours (6–9 am and 3–7 pm), SMART buses provide $2 fixed-route rides between the Detroit Airport Lounges and downtown. Outside of those times, on weekends, and holidays, you’ll need to take the SMART bus to a transfer point, where you’ll board a local bus in Detroit.
Opt for a taxi or a vehicle-sharing app to get a straight downtown route. Outside of both terminals is where you can find the taxi stands. You’ll have to spend a bit of money, but you’ll have more time to enjoy the benefits.
7. Wi-Fi
Use the airport’s free WiFi to check in with loved ones at home, post on social media, or peruse the web.

The McNamara Terminal services Concourses A, B, and C at Detroit Airport Lounges, while the Evans Terminal serves Concourse D. Shuttle buses run between the terminals every 10 minutes. McNamara Terminal features a wider variety of dining, shopping, and service alternatives than Terminal 2.
