current EU legislation
The EU's so-called CRS Code of Conduct (Regulation 2299/89) is primarily designed to guarantee the operation of CRS systems in a transparent, non-discriminatory way while avoiding distortions in competition between carriers.
Adopted for the first time in 1989, the regulation underwent significant revision in 1993 and again in 1999 aimed at extending the field of application of the regulation to cover rail transport and travel agents and bring it into line with changes in EC competition law.
