Subj.: United Airlines’ Credit Card Cost-Transfer Scheme
Monday, July 20 is the date that United Airlines (UA) has stated that it will forbid some travel agencies to process ticket reservations utilizing UA’s credit card merchant agreements.
As has been widely reported in the press, and as expressed directly to UA CEO Glenn Tilton by the American Society of Travel Agents, Business Travel Coalition, travel agency CEOs, corporate travel managers and members of Congress, a wholesale transfer of UA’s legal and financial obligations through travel agencies to the consumer is wholly unacceptable; period, full stop.
